Why are we so attracted to haunted houses? It may be the fear of the unknown and the need to confront head on the
supernatural powers in the world. The truth is that haunted houses have become very popular in the last ten years. It may be
because we get excited by haunted houses and haunted attractions.
There are many different haunted attractions in Georgia.

Georgia is a state with a lot of history, a part of both the revolutionary and the civil war. It is a state that has seen a lot of despair,
and trauma, this is probably the reason why there are so many real haunted houses and places where spirits abide in this state.

Harville House in Statesboro Ga
It is said that this house is haunted by two elderly ladies, who were forgotten by friends and family. When they died it was some time
before anyone noticed. It is said that a blue light can be seen at night, and some who have gone inside have reported seeing two
women in rocking chairs.
The Old Light House on Saint Simon’s Island
It is said that the first owner was murdered in the mid 1800s and that he has haunted the house ever since. Some say they can see
him going up the stairs of the lighthouse but never coming down.
The Dungeon on Cumberland Island
This real haunted house in Georgia is said to be filled with the spirit of the owner. Supposedly the couple was having dinner with
friends when the house caught fire. Everyone escaped except for the owner. The burnt remains of the owner were laid to rest soon
after and the house was abandoned, but some weeks later, a man was having a dinner party and the house burned again, when
people went to look the found the mans body again. Visitors have since reported mysterious sounds and visions in the house.
The Ezekiel Harris House in Augusta
Apparently a soldier hung from the rafters of this house. Sometimes the sound of a swinging rope can be heard and some say they
have seen the soldier swinging sometimes.
Friendly Haunt in Albany
This house is said to have a friendly ghost. It’s an old grimy looking man, but he is supposedly there to protect the people that live
there. He is even said to have protected a woman from her abusive mate. He is said to check on the residents before going to his
own room at night. His room is the back bathroom.
The Adair House in Adairsville
There is said to be a little girl here that turns the attic lights on and off. People say they have left toys in the attic and in the morning
they are in a different place.
House of a Thousand Cadavers in Columbus
It is said that residents hear door slamming all the time in this house, there are lots of cold spots, and there is even strange moaning
sounds that come from the middle bedroom. You may even feel confused or insane when entering this house.
As you can see throughout Georgia there are many different homes that are haunted. This is truly the state for the paranormal. And
if you can get permission to enter or if the house is open to visitors they are well worth seeing. Who knows you may get a glimpse of
the ghosts of the house!
